The Omega of Apostasy Documentary
The documentary Omega of Apostasy is designed to highlight how the heart of the apostasy attacks Justification by Faith Blending the work of justification and sanctification into ONE is a Roman Catholic Heresy. It is called “infused righteousness”. It exalts the righteousness of the creature as being able to earn eternal life.
“Let the subject be made distinct and plain that it is not possible to effect anything in our standing before God or in the gift of God to us through creature merit. Should faith and works purchase the gift of salvation for anyone, then the Creator is under obligation to the creature. Here is an opportunity for falsehood to be accepted as truth. If any man can merit salvation by anything he may do, then he is in the same position as the Catholic to do penance for his sins. Salvation, then, is partly of debt, that may be earned as wages. If man cannot, by any of his good works, merit salvation, then it must be wholly of grace, received by man as a sinner because he receives and believes in Jesus. It is wholly a free gift. Justification by faith is placed beyond controversy. And all this controversy is ended, as soon as the matter is settled that the merits of fallen man in his good works can never procure eternal life for him.” (Faith and Works 19)
Yet the doctrine of infused righteousness has begun to enter into many Adventist churches. The consequences of adopting this teachings is that Christ no longer becomes center stage, He is not presented as distinct and holy. Rather the only view we see of God is Christ in man and what a low presentation of His glory that is! Thus many do not learn to value Christ as a Savior, but merely as an agent of social change and good will in society.
But this is all a deception. We must see Christ in His undimmed righteousness in order to have an accurate understanding of the true standard of God’s holiness and our real predicament in sin. We must understand the treason that it is to offer before God our self-glory. Our eternal salvation depends upon it.
“If you would gather together everything that is good and holy and noble and lovely in man and then present the subject to the angels of God as acting a part in the salvation of the human soul or in merit, the proposition would be rejected as treason. Standing in the presence of their Creator and looking upon the unsurpassed glory which enshrouds His person, they are looking upon the Lamb of God given from the foundation of the world to a life of humiliation, to be rejected of sinful men, to be despised, to be crucified. Who can measure the infinity of the sacrifice!” (Faith and Works p.24.)
In the Omega of Apostasy Documentary we discuss a number of thought provoking topics as well as the present internal controversies within Adventism that have begun to sweep away multitudes. Our primary focus is to ground you on the broad platform of Justification By Faith, or Righteousness By Faith. The loss of this preeminent doctrine is what will make believers susceptible the the Omega and has historically caused Adventists to go the way of Rome in their theological understanding. The road to the Roman Apostasy is to take on the view that man is “justified” through creature merit, which is also known as infused righteousness. This may all sound a bit confusing, but in the Omega of Apostasy documentary we make the matter crystal clear. We also examine some Seventh-Day Adventist history and explore figures like E.J. Waggoner, Uriah Smith and Kellogg in order to understand how Adventists theology has taken the turns that it has today.
The Omega of Apostasy Documentary is an excellent resource that has compelling narrative, clarifying the true danger that Adventism faces when it loses it’s hold on the fundamentals of the gospel.
It also investigates how Ellen G. White viewed the message of justification by faith and how that compares to the Adventist Denomination throughout history as well as our present modern day.
